Colour and time
Red indicates a detection observed within six hours of the release reference time. Amber indicates an older detection within the selected 12-, 24-, or 48-hour window. Age is recalculated from the observation timestamp; it is not stored as a permanent label.
Clusters
A numbered cluster groups nearby detections for legibility. It is not one large fire, an incident count, a perimeter, or a severity level. Zoom in to load regional detail.
Confidence and FRP
Confidence is algorithm- and product-specific. “High” cannot be read as “high danger.” FRP is a physical radiative-power observation, not fire size or risk.
Fresh, partial, and stale
Fresh means every required source validated in the same recent run. Partial means at least one source is newly validated while another retains previous verified data. Delayed or stale warnings mean you should pay particular attention to each source watermark.
Empty results
“No detections match” means exactly that. It never means that there are no fires, no danger, or no need to follow official information.
