ThermalGlobe is an independent informational service operated by ZENIT GROUP S.A.S. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by NASA, a fire service, a civil-protection agency, an emergency-management authority, or any other government body unless a specific relationship is expressly stated.
A detection is not a confirmed incident
The initial map displays satellite thermal detections supplied through NASA FIRMS. A detection is not the same as a confirmed wildfire, incident report, fire perimeter, evacuation zone, flame location, or assessment of danger.
Thermal detections may be associated with wildfire, prescribed or agricultural burning, industrial heat, gas flares, volcanic activity, or other anomalies. A point may be imprecise or duplicated.
Coverage and delay
Cloud, smoke, terrain, satellite orbit and coverage, sensor resolution, processing, network failure, source outages, and delay can cause real fires to be missing or shown after conditions have changed. The absence of a point does not mean that no fire exists.
Observation time, retrieval time, processing time, and publication time are different. āLatest availableā and ānear-real-timeā do not mean instantaneous or guaranteed current data.
Official instructions take priority
Do not rely on ThermalGlobe to determine whether you are safe, whether a road is open, whether a property is threatened, or whether, when, or how to evacuate.
If you are in or near danger, contact the emergency services available in your location and follow current instructions from local fire, police, civil-protection, emergency-management, and other competent authorities. Never delay contacting emergency services or following an official warning because no detection appears on ThermalGlobe.
Availability and rights
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service and data are provided on an āas isā and āas availableā basis. ZENIT GROUP S.A.S. does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, complete geographic or temporal coverage, absence of errors, or fitness for a safety-critical purpose. Nothing in this notice or the Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
